De nouveaux concept-arts réalisés par les artistes Andy Park et Jackson Sze nous montrent des versions alternatives pour les personnages du film Thor : Ragnarok avec des nouveaux designs pour Hela, Sutur, Walkirie et bien entendu Thor.

Thor finally wore a helmet (for a little bit :)) ! Woohoo ! I was honored to come up with this design. The challenge was to come up with a look that is not from Asgard but is reminiscent of his classic look. @taikawaititi had the idea of his side wings being flipped down at first & then he would flip it up to reveal his more classic Thor silhouette. I did the initial 2d concept design & then I worked with @ianjoynerart as he did the actual 3D execution of the helmet. This illustration is a combo of my painting with Ian’s 3D helmet form put on top. Here's an early design version I did of Thor's gladiator look from #ThorRagnarok I was going for the armored look reminiscent to Odin's from the Thor : God of Thunder series. Between myself & the other artists we did well over a hundred versions. This one was a tough one to crack. At the end it was a combo of additional pieces of armor over his existing suit of armor, some red markings, new weapons & a helmet that completed his gladiatorial look. And this is one of the approved Hela designs I painted up on #ThorRagnarok As you know (if you watched it) she has several looks in the film. I absolutely loved coming up with this design & how @taikawaititi completely embraced & encouraged her crazy comic book aesthetic (Taika's awesome !) A character like Thor can go through many rounds of designs during pre-production. By exploring possibilities we hope to ultimately reach an appropriate design that speaks to a character's story. During this particular round of design, @taikawaititi was pushing us to give Thor the Jack Kirby aesthetics while he was a gladiator on Sakaar. Escape from Sakaar ! The challenge of this keyframe was to juggle action with character connection. This would be the first time Thor and Valkyrie worked together in a big action set piece. Amid the explosions and chaos the 2 warriors needed to connect and acknowledge each other's battle prowess. This keyframe takes place pretty much immediately after my previously posted image of Hela arriving at Asgard and confronting the Asgard army. Here I want to convey the joy Hela takes in battle, slicing and dicing through the Einherjar with ease.
